New telecos have rolled out new mobile series starting with ‘8′ very recently, This made us to tweak our platform to allow the new mobile number format.India has exhausted its mobile numbers in the 9 series and has now started with 8 series.For over 15 years, India has been using mobile numbers starting with ‘9xxxxxxxx’. In 2003 DoT came up with a 30-year numbering plan, but the rapid growth in the mobile subscriber base, has forced it to relook into its policy and consider releasing 8 series to the telecos.
